Accident to the glider LAK-12 registration LY-GCW

On 5 May 2018, at 13:21 at the Pociūnai aerodrome, an aircraft PZL-104 Wilga-35A, LY-BHK, towing a glider LAK-12 Lietuva, LY-GCW, did not achieve the required speed and height for take-off. During the towing the glider pilot decided to release. As the glider pilot tried to turn around and land at the aerodrome, the glider LAK 12 Lietuva hit the trees and fell in the forest. The glider was destroyed. The glider pilot was not injured. The aircraft PZL-104 Wilga-35A flew a circle and landed safely at the aerodrome.
