Accident to the glider LAK-17B FES registration D-KSEO

On 11 August 2019 the glider LAK-17B FES registration D-KSEO took off from Garray airfield (Soria) to the Fuentemilanos airfield (Segovia), Kingdom of Spain. During the flight due to the weather condition the pilot decided to return. During the approach, the pilot estimated that he could not reach the airfield and the pilot decided to land in a nearby field. After flying over trees, the glider collided with an electric power line and fell to the ground. The pilot was not injured. The glider suffered significant damage.

The safety investigation is performed by the Safety Investigation Authority of the Kingdom of Spain (Comisión de Investigación de Accidentes e Incidentes de Aviación Civil).

The Republic of Lithuania, as a state of design and manufacture of the glider, has appointed the accredited representative and his technical advisor to this safety investigation.
