More than 200 high-level representatives of the Council of Europe, European political leaders, Ministers of Justice of the Member States of the Council of Europe, academics met in Vilnius.
Under the Lithuanian Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, Vilnius is hosting one of the most important events of the Lithuanian Presidency – a High-Level Conference of the Ministers of Justice of the Council of Europe “Towards Accountability for International Crimes Committed in Ukraine”.
Welcoming remarks were made by:
• Ms Ewelina Dobrowolska, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania;
• Ms Marija Pejčinović Burić, Secretary General of the Council of Europe;
• Mr Lukas Savickas, Member of the Lithuanian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on behalf of the PACE President Mr Theodoros Rousopoulos;
• Ms Liudmyla Suhak, Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine for European Integration (Online);
• Ms Věra Jourová, Vice-President of the European Commission for Values and Transparency.

The Treaty Signing Ceremony was held at the event – Council of Europe Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law.
Ministers of Justice of the Member States and Observer States of the Council of Europe also signed a Declaration reaffirming their strong commitment to support Ukraine, to ensure justice and international law, and russia's obligation to accept the legal consequences, including reparation, of all its international unlawful acts in or against Ukraine.
