In striving to create a national legal system that complies with the concept of the rule of law and the legal experience of the European Union, the Ministry of Justice prepares draft laws of the Republic of Lithuania, draft resolutions of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania and other draft legislatio.

The Ministry also provides, in the procedure established by law, legal opinions on legislative concepts, draft laws and other draft legislation, as well as conclusions regarding their compliance with European Union law.
