Deputy Minister Česlovas Mulma joins the team of Rita Tamašunienė, Minister of Justice

From 6 October, Deputy Minister Česlovas Mulma will be joining the team of Minister of Justice Rita Tamašunienė. He will be responsible for coordinating the penal system and security investigations, as well as for coordinating the activities of the Lithuanian Prison Service, the Lithuanian Probation Service and the Lithuanian Forensic Science Centre.

“I am delighted that an experienced official with many years of service is joining my team. I hope that his accumulated knowledge and practical experience will strengthen policy-making and contribute to improving the work of the Lithuanian Prison Service and the Lithuanian Probation Service,” says Minister of Justice Rita Tamašunienė.

Česlovas Mulma is a graduate of the Lithuanian Police Academy and has many years’ experience working within the internal affairs system. He began his service in 1989 as a rank-and-file officer, later working in the criminal investigation department. In 2006, Mr Mulma was appointed Chief of the Alytus City and District Police Headquarters. From 2008 to 2017, he served as Chief of the Alytus County Police Headquarters. From 2017 to 2020, Mr Mulma served as Deputy Minister of the Interior, responsible for public security.
