Focus on strengthening democratic values in the EU context – Minister of Justice meets with European Commissioner
Minister of Justice Rita Tamašunienė met with Michael McGrath, the EU Commissioner responsible for democracy, justice, consumer protection, and the fight against disinformation.
The meeting focused on strengthening democratic values in the EU context, the priorities of Lithuania in the area of justice during its Presidency of the Council of the EU, and the protection of consumer rights.
The Minister emphasised that Lithuania supports the efforts of the European Commission to strengthen European democracy initiatives aimed at ensuring the resilience of civil society, the principles of the rule of law, the fight against corruption, and the protection of the rights of crime victims.
