Vice-Minister of Justice Barbara Aliaševičienė: focused partnership with Poland is the foundation for security in our region
Vice-Minister of Justice Barbara Aliaševičienė participated in the 26th session of the Assembly of Members of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania and the Sejm and Senate of the Republic of Poland.
“The Programme of the 20th Government emphasises a focused partnership with our neighbour Poland. This partnership is not only a historical connection, but also the foundation of security in our region.
We seek to strengthen cooperation in the areas of defence and security, continue strategic transport and energy projects, expand economic and cultural exchanges. We also pay particular attention to issues related to national minorities, which are part of the strength and cohesion of our society. Therefore, caring for the preservation of Polish identity in Lithuania actually means fostering the cultural diversity of the whole Lithuania,” said the Vice-Minister.
The Assembly session focused on the geopolitical situation in the region, bilateral cooperation in the fields of defence and security, and on issues of national minorities.
