With Vice-Minister Martynas Dobrovolskis joining, the political team of the Minister of Justice is now complete

Today, on 7 November, Vice-Minister Martynas Dobrovolskis joined the political team of Minister of Justice Rita Tamašunienė.

Mr Dobrovolskis has gained working experience as Senior Adviser to the Criminal Justice Group of the Ministry of Justice, as well as Judicial Assistant in the Criminal Division of the Vilnius Regional Court.

The responsibilities of the new Vice-Minister will include the development of national policy in the field of criminal and criminal procedure law, issues of the transposition of European Union legislation into national law, rectification in infringement procedures, consideration and implementation of recommendations made by the Council of Europe and the United Nations on international conventions in the field of criminal law and criminal procedure.

Martynas Dobrovolskis is a lecturer at the Department of Criminal Justice of the Faculty of Law at Vilnius University. He holds a Master's degree in law from the Faculty of Law of Vilnius University and is currently pursuing a doctorate.

Mr Dobrovolskis will be responsible for the issues of criminal justice, punishment enforcement policy, European Union law, Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
